Parole - CynicalSceptical
Jun 26, 2008 10:50 AM
|
I wonder when Betty Broderick will be up for parole. According to CL she'll be up for parole sometime in 2011. Other sites say March 2010. I doubt if she would be a menace to society now. Personally I would say that depends. She jumps off the rails pretty quickly when thwarted or angered and we know she takes it all the way to murder. I'm not sure she isn't a menace....but she may have a loophole unconnected to her crime. Typically, CA doesn't parole murderers...especially those that have no remorse, even now. But last time I researched this subject I found CA is open to paroling people over 60 because recidivism drops drastically for this group of criminals. So, Betty may have a chance. I don't know that I would count on it, though. She's had rough spots. Remember, the parole board can consider the crime as well as her behavior..which is why I say CA doesn't parole murderers much. Leslie Van Houten hasn't had much luck. She's only two years younger and has been in prison longer with a more exemplary record of behavior I bet. She may not be as crazy as she was when she went completely crazy. Betty being crazy is a common assumption but not supported by any evidence. Betty was not only hospitalized for days and evaluated as a requirement for release after driving her car into the house, she also was evaluated by no less than 3 psychs during the divorce (4 including the marriage counselor, if I'm remembering the time frame right). Anyway, Betty's mental health was the most important thing the psychs considered, remember, because she was being judged for fitness as a guardian to her children. Other than depression and possible BPD (if I remember right...may have been NPD), Betty had no other diagnosis. Again, I can't stress enough that Betty was seen by many mental health professionals and they saw no "crazy" in her...this assumption of craziness is completely without medical or logical foundation. -- In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods They haven't forgotten this >^^<

Then you are not very familiar with the facts. Just the TV movies that are fiction. Oh no...the facts are totally consistent with this being a premeditated murder. Betty took Kim's key and learned how to shoot a gun as well as stating several times she would kill Dan. She also took the gun with her in the early morning to the Broderick house without discernable stops or hesitations. She also took care to conceal her entry to the house and surprised Dan and Linda in their bedroom, sleeping. LOL, Linda appreciated and cared for his money. According to family, both Dan and Linda cared for each other and were looking forward to starting a family. Remember, Linda not only stayed with Dan through financial problems, she also waited for at least 3 years before they got married. If she had the power over Dan you say and the urge for money your imply, she would have gotten him to the alter sooner. LOL, Linda was the very definition of a dumb bimbo. She never earned a college credit. Yet, they have her as a lawyer. Gimmee a break. Being a college graduate, much less earning a credit in college, doesn't automatically make you smart. LOL Um, he carried on the affair for three years before he asked for a divorce. Get your facts straight. He had Linda in his and Betty's bed while she was on vacation with the kids THREE YEARS before he left. Wow, you really aren't even worth answering. You truly haven't a clue. According to CL, the span from affair to separation was only a year. Your jeering of the poster is unfounded and rude. Please provide your evidence that the affair was 3 years in the making before Dan asked for a divorce. -- In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods They haven't forgotten this >^^<

JennaK, I was simply curious where you get your information. It seems you have issues answering simple question (without belittling someone in the process). Yes, I disagree with you on this subject, but I am entitled to my opinion (just as you and the rest of Betty's supporters are). You seemed to know more about her case than others on here, so I simply asked you where you get that info. This is a "discussion" board!! -- STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS.... Jennak, Can you please enlighten us (those who haven't been posting on here long) as to where you get your "knowledge" of Betty and Dan's life together? And, if you don't mind (beings you are the only one with first hand "knowledge" of this case), can you tell us why none of her family and/or friends have come forward with "what really happened"? -- STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS.... >I think Betty Broderick planned the murders--and > I do not feel she was a victim, not at all. Then you are not very familiar with the facts. Just the TV movies that are fiction. And to > those who all believed that she was mentally ill or > driven by rage? Please, that is so untrue it's not > even funny. She was extremely bitter, is what it was! She had every reason to be bitter after all she gave to that man and the way he treated her in return. > Bitter because her ex-husband decided to move on with > a woman who actually appreciated him and cared for > him... LOL, Linda appreciated and cared for his money. and honestly, what did Betty expect? She was > never happy with Dan, even when they were married. I > do believe that Dan was verbally abusive to Betty and > he is guilty of having an affair, but trust me, Betty > was no angel! From what I saw in the movie(and I know > things can be exaggerated; however, I believe it) What you saw in the movie? The movie was based on interviews with Kerry Wells, Larry Broderick and Sharon Blanchett. No wonder your views are so warped. That movie was fiction. Very loosely based on a true story. The only things they got right were the names of the three players and the gunshots. Do you actually believe Linda was a lawyer? LOL, Linda was the very definition of a dumb bimbo. She never earned a college credit. Yet, they have her as a lawyer. Gimmee a break. she > was mean to Dan. She always seemed to be yelling at > him, even when he tried to be nice to her and do > things for her! What an ungrateful little > you-know-what. > I do truly feel that Dan tried to make their > eir marriage work for years, for their sake and the > sake of the children, but Betty did not put in an > effort at all, so he finally just gave up and decided > to move on with someone else. Again, you haven't a clue. Don't believe everything you see on TV. Dan tried to be nice? Yeah right. Hey, at least he had > the decency to ask for a divorce instead of carrying > on the affair for years and years! Um, he carried on the affair for three years before he asked for a divorce. Get your facts straight. He had Linda in his and Betty's bed while she was on vacation with the kids THREE YEARS before he left. Wow, you really aren't even worth answering. You truly haven't a clue. At least he loved them and cared > about them very much--unlike other men who don't even > give a damn in situations like this! Hate to burst your bubble, but Dan WAS one of those men. He didn't care about anyone but himself, the kids were weapons to him. He didn't care enough to keep the house stocked with food or buy them new clothes. He made Lee sleep in the pool house with no bathroom. He threw her out of his house and cut her out of his will. Yeah, really good father. After > all, isn't that why two innocent people are dead? > No innocent people are dead. Just 2 people who had it coming. > Rest in peace, Dan and Linda. Rot in hell Dan and Linda. And Ghostfan, you really need to get a clue.

> Whoever wrote that BB has a poisonous personality hit > it right on the head. And you know this because you spent so much time with her? She if fat, ugly, cusses like > a drunken sailor and never concerned about anyone but > herself. At one time, she was thin and beautiful. Then she married Dan Broderick... She deserved a divource and being kicked to > the curb. She deserved no such thing. The only people who got what they deserved in this case were Dan and Linda. I hate Betty Broderick. Oh, we know you do, Nico. We know you do.

What a insane post.....you don't get to kill someone for being a jerk, a cheater, a immoral a-hole, no ma'am you don't, nor did Betty, she was wrong, period, her pain was ligit, its how anyone would feel being deserted and screwed over, but that is life, everyone goes through this, you do not kill another human being and call it justified, because you were rejected. -- "Example of miscarriage of justice, Miss Frances Farmer"
