my favorite woman on the show is melfi. i like how she sometimes uses tony's terms/insults toward her family as well as her phsyc. she digs tony but never really reveals that to him which she shouldnt i guess-but i always wanted them to get together at least one time. shes smart,whitty, and sexy to a certain extent----pt----

My favorite women would have to be dr.melfi for sure.
She is a women who can hold her own and not be intimidated by her patient and because of her i am becoming a psychiatrist

obviously T is one of the best characters but im kinda torn between paulie and silvio dante for my fav's...both have that ol school no-nonssense attitude where if u mess around u get iced.not to mention they were the most loyal characters to tony...

Tony Soprano (Gandofini) is my favorite...........Boss .......... family man, husband , lover, friend , father, uncle, nephew, son, and all the tiny parts of his being in the character that makes the man unique....Made the Star.....made the series....greatly underestimated as an actor.....fabulous icon for the years to come.....My Man....Tony Soprano.....complimented by his fabulous cast members...I will watch him forever......lnc613

 Tony Soprano/James Gandolfini is my favorite. That is really an understatement because I think he is an absolutely phenomenal actor. Every episode centers around his character. He is one of the most (if not THE most) complex characters I've ever seen on TV. His acting, his demeanor - everything is brilliant. Without saying a word, I know what he's thinking in every scene. I go through every emotion there is from one hour to the next. He can be a real mean, cruel character and the next minute be so poignant, he'll bring me to tears. Stunning!
Also, his chemistry with all the characters and especially Carmella is fantastic.

No question about it...Its Tony. Now, I recognize this good actor in many other movies and roles. Still, the rest of this cast make him shine.
As to Livia being his mental hang up? Whatever happened to "taking responsibility for one's own choices and actions"?..Is it only in this century Mom's are blamed for their kids being alive...sounds like a generation that hates life.
Like Tony & Carmellas' kids: totally spoiled brats but loving in a pinch.

Vince Curatola would be my second choice as Johnny Sack. Was glad to see his role expanded as the series progressed. Another very talented actor.

James Gandolfini. I can't imagine anyone else in the role of Tony Soprano. He nailed this character from the first episode. As the show progresses he just gets better and better.

My favorite man on the Sopranos would be The Man himself, Tony Soprano.  I just love this character. Tony is Strong, Powerful, Hard-Core, Violent (at times), Tender and Caring all rolled into one.
And coming in second would definitely be Paulie. He's an ACE when it comes to comic relief on the show. My favorite "line" of Paulie's would be, "Get the #@!* out of here". I lol everytime I hear that line.
