Oh, and as someone who bought a house from a flipper who did a cosmetically beautiful but structurally terrible job, I'm pretty horrified by ALL the flipping shows on TV & how they encourage NOT looking in the walls, lest you find mold or dry rot or anything else that has to be repaired. And all the other corners they cut in order to hide the real problems.

As buyers, you have no idea if licensed contractors were used and what all work was even done unless the sellers disclose it (which our didn't).

We are one lawsuit, one insurance claim for a water loss, & a lot of money for repairs later, yet we still find problems all the time. In fact yesterday we got a quote for $3K to tear out & replace our master shower stall bc they didn't put a liner under the travertine, plus they installed the tile over a leaking shower pan. Every day it's a new surprise and a contractor dumbfounded by the shoddy work that was done.

Armando is an egomaniac (and training his son to be one, it seems) but that's part of the humor of the show. I totally understand that a lot of it has to be recreated, I'm ok with the marginal acting, I'm sure they hire their interns etc for more than their acting skills.

What bothered me about the cat house episode is that there were kids living there! I would have asked the seller if they were living there or renting it out (probably renting), and encouraged them to call CPS with the names of the renters. The seller probably doesn't know the whereabouts of the renters now (they seem like the
kind of people who would skip town) but I'm horrified that kids were living in those conditions.

Well this has toi be the woruest show I have ever watched of his. I feel sorry for anyone who buys a home from him and his crew!! What a patch job he does week in and week out!! How does anyone in that crew sleep at night!! That cat house smell will come back as dsoo as you have a rainy period!! You had to replace all the drywall and all the inside walls other wise the smell will return. But who cares as long as he makes a buck and drives away in his hummer!! If I had to make a living raping people out of there money I could n't live with myself. It takes all kinds of people to be like him!!

Quite frankly, if I were Armando's wife, I'd include him in "demo" day and haul him off. It's bad enough that he treats pretty much everyone like cr@p and makes himself look like a jackass in the process, he treats his wife like she is stupid. Then again, she allows it. He is way to self important and, yes, his fits are contrived and he acts like a child. He comes across as abusive all around. When I turn on FTH and he's on, I "flip" the channel. If I could buy Armando for what he's worth and in turn sell him for what he "thinks" he's worth - I think I'd make a bundle. This is the first time I've posted on this forum but in about 60 seconds I watched him behave like THE WORLD OWES HIM, treat his wife like a subserviant, then walk away spouting off, as usual, "I don't have time for this crap, I've got a business to run". maybe not scripted but he sounds rehearsed at times and his little rages sound so forced that i cringe with embarassment for him. i think he got beat up a lot when he was young and he wants everyone to bow to him now....that's all : )

I don't think this is a scripted show, it seems real compared to others like Gene Simmons Family Jewels (now that is a show that is scripted). Armando is kind of a jerk but he is interesting. Veronica is a sweetheart. I do question their ethics too, I don't think I would ever buy one of their flips. However they are the main reason I watch "Flip That House", them and the New Haven crew. Like Howard Stern drew a following so do the Montelongo's.

it seems to me that all of Armando's "tantrums" and "rages" are scripted and he is a very poor actor. i.e. when he gave his speech on how the cat house would not beat him...CORNY! it's obvious that he really loves having the camera on him him him. i will not be tuning back in to watch this self absorbed brat, I would rather see Jeff Lewis pick up poop on Bravo.

OK... I finally saw this episode over the weekend. Give me a break!! Armondo is a complete egotistical ass who plays the macho card anytime someone or something threatens his "manhood".

In this case we see him check out the house before he decides to buy it...he looks in the window and walks the perimeter and seems saticsfied that it is a good buy. Later, he is "shocked and horrified" by the filth and smell... and seemingly outraged when he is issued a summons for the stench that the whole neighborhood has complained to police about over and over. So... was he blind and lacking the sense of smell when he checked out the house before purchasing it?????

C'mon folks...Armondo just wanted to "set up" a good flip and show what a master he is at flipping. Why else have soooooo many references to hating the house, how it's the only house to "almost defeat" him, and that final assinine scen where he pumps his fist and yells "I beat you!!!" How childish!

I will definitely boycott all future episodes with Armondo...

I found the episode of the cat house to be extremely intriguing! To think someone would live in filth like that. Wow! Unbelievable.

I would not have minded living in that house after all the work they did.

As for the cats, I am sure they took care of them in a proper manner. The cats were the least of their worries.

And how many people could stay calm after going through all through what Armando went through. He kept having to spend thousands of dollars every time he turned around. Maybe next time he will look inside before buying a house.

I couldn't agree with you more.

How could they not address what happened to the cats they showed alive living in the filth? How is that at all socially responsible?

I also will not be tuning into any further episodes involving this family.
