When is the final season (6) going to be on A&E?
It's been quite awhile since season 5 was on.
Did I miss it?
Was it on in march or may 2008?

I'm getting nervous, is the show going to disappear again? For next week's slot I see 'to be announced.'

Hi timmy can you answer my question? In season six, does Tony and his NJ family wipe out the NY family? The previews I think showed this and is FBI Agent Harris involved? The preview shows him saying about the mob war: "we're gonna win this". Thanks for your help.

timmey, Thank you!! I don't know how I was so mis-informed before. I am watching the Sopranos for the first time, and I can't wait to see how it ends. Unfortunately, I know some spoilers from the last season, but I think I will still enjoy it. Thank you again for clearing this up for me.

eah518, there are "only" 6 seasons.
Season 6 consists of 21 episodes and was divided into 2 parts. Season 6.1 consists of 12 episodes and 6.2 consists of the final 9 episodes.
No 7th season, no 8th season.

I can't wait till next Sunday, when season 6 begins. But I have a question. A&E is advertising this as "the final season." However, I believe there are 8 seasons total. Does this mean A&E will only air season 6, and not the final two seasons? Or are they going to show all 3 seasons over the course of the next year, as though it were one long season? They showed the first 5 back-to-back, so I'm hoping they'll do that with the final 3. I would hate for the final 2 never to air. Any thoughts?

I have been told that season six starts with the war between the new york and new jersey familiies. Could anyone tell me if Tony and his family wins? I thought it strange on the previews that the FBI agent says: "were gonna win this"!

Most recent A&E schedule has first episode from season six set to air March 16. Title is "Members Only". If you haven't already seen it, the ending is shocking!

well .. it's past march 2nd .. and no season 6
my guess is they are waiting for you to buy the dvd .. to try to recoup some of the fantastic amount of money they spent for the rights to this show on a&e.
mabye when dvd sales slow to a crawl or stop.. they'll start season 6 .. another unlikly reason is they are still editing the last season for content prior to showing them..
but i think it' smore a sales issue for dvd's.

I, for one, am grateful for the editing done by AE. I would never be able to sit through the language and sexual content on the HBO version. If you want the "full monty" then by all means watch it on HBO. AE has done a great service by presenting this terrific series to us.
