I really do miss this show. I loved to watch all the crazines! I wish we could have seen some of the things that were edited out. I hope everyone is happy with their new jobs, retirement, and Emilys move back to Michigan. Maybe they could to a Christmas Special with updates on how everyone is doing "now".;)

Kris,
AS you saw on the show care and understanding by the Funeral Home staff this is very true. One problem that we are facing in the Funeral Home industry is Large Corporations buying up Family owned and operated Funeral Homes with most of the time the public does not know because the name has not changed. The major probelm with these Corporations is the "Dollar sign". They work their staff harder and may pay them less, and then you run into the problem of the Compassion and understanding being lost. If you don't treat your staff good, this can reflect on how they (staff) treat you. It's a personnel thing. Now don't get me wrong, there are still one's out there who do the correct thing and that is the compassion towards you and the other Families.

I WAS ORIGINALLY GOING TO ASK WHERE MY SHOW HAD GONE,
TO MY DISMAY READING ALL THESE COMMENTS I FOUND OUT
MY SHOW IS NO MORE AND THAT THEY HAD ALL LEFT THE
BUSINESS. I WAS A FAITHFUL WATCHER AND JUST THOUGHT
THE SHOW HAD ENDED FOR THE SUMMER. I'M SO SORRY TO
HEAR THE REAL REASON. BUT CAN'T YOU DO A SHOW ABOUT
THESE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVE ALL COME TO KNOW AND LOVE
IT MATTERS NOT WHERE THEY RESIDE OR WORK WE'VE COME
TO LOVE THEM AND WANT TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THEM
THE ONLY WAY WE CAN. I MEAN TRULY DOES IT REALLY
MATTER WHERE THEY ARE WE JUST WANT TO SEE THEM AND
KNOW WHAT THEIR DOING NOW. I LOST MY 8MO. OLD SON TO MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY 7 YRS. AGO AND THIS SHOW IN A WEIRD
WAY HELPED ME SOME ESPECIALLY IN JOHN'S SITUATION.
PLEASE BRING THEM BACK EVEN IF THEY ARE SCATTERED WE WANT TO SEE THEM.

Being in the business myself The behind the scenes which you see on the show is much what you see at any Funeral Home. Yes we have the compassion and the respect for the Deceased. It is called the Sacred Trust. We are taught this in Mortuary School and taught to carry it on during our career. I too would like to see Family Plots back on the Air. But, I have heard that the National Funeral Directors Association got involved and something may have happened behind the scenes (not the Show) but with the NFDA taking some kind of Action towards Poway Bernardo. This is not fact just hear say.

I really like Family Plots,I beleive it is one one of the best reality shows that was presented to us to enjoy. You seem to get involved in the characters lifes and issuies. I would love to see it come back for at least 2 more seasons.

As someone who is in the mortuary on a nearly weekly basis, I can bring you up to date. There hasn't been a film crew there for nearly 2 years. David, Shonna, Chuck, Emily, John and Matt are all gone. There is a new staff of professionals (6 all together). The drama is still there just with different people. It is interesting to see the same (if not greater) level of compassion and more professionalism than before.

As much as we would all have liked them to return, it's not going to happen, at least not in the near future.

John, Shonna, Chuck, and David are gone from Poway-Bernardo. Emily will soon re-locate to Michigan to raise her son. Only Rick remains on a full time basis. And no one wants to do a show about him and some new lady named Mary Kenricks who I believe has taken John's old position as Funeral Assistant. Additionally, just trying to run a business was made a lot more difficult by the exposure of being on national TV and the thousands of adoring paparazzi who disrupted the business daily.

The show's appeal was that is wuld about REAL people with REAL life issues also trying to help others deal with life's most difficult situation, a death of a loved one.

I found out from another source that it's possible the show was cancelled because most of them don't work there anymore. I know Emily, Rick, Melissa and David do. Shonna and Chuck don't work there anymore. This was my favorite show besides The First 48, Criss Angel Mindfreak and Crossing Jordan. I miss this show, it was awesome. I know that during the day, usually before 12 noon, they play some of the older episodes and I saw some that I never say before and I saw them all with the exception of one or two.
