I am with you Dopey9!!! Three years ago I suffered a terminal liver disease. I had to plan my own funeral, as was mandatory for all organ transplant patients to do, and I found the funeral home I dealt with when making my arrangements to be very "stuffy". Yes, I do understand that the death of a loved one is a horribly sad occasion, however, when the one dying is making their own arrangments, a wee bit of laughter would sure help!! I faithfully watched the show, and in my opinion if they didn't show ALL the interactions between the staff it would be VERY boring!!!! Wish I could have found a funeral home such as Poway Bernardo when making my arrangements!!!!!!

I loved watching this show and I don't understand why it was taken off the air so soon. Growing up Gotti, should be given the boot. Anyway can anyone tell me why it was removed from the A&E listings and have some of the original cast members moved on to different careers?

Well said Orbtrans. Nice to see you are being supportive. I Miss the show and everyone that was part of the show, but it is a real business, carrying on everyday. No one should bad mouth Rick or anyone else. We should be thankful for the two seasons we had to see these wonderful people doing what they do, best. I wish Rick and everyone else well, and you as well. (:

Actually Poway-Bernardo is alive and well. The mortuary has a license, uses licensed professionals, is fully staffed with VERY COOL AND COMPASSIONATE staff. You all oughtts stop by some time and check it out! Yes I know its hard to believe, but people do move on for various reasons. But to those badmouthing Rick and the rest of PBM- they do not deserve it. They are great people doing a necessary service. Try walking in their shoes sometime!

What happened to the show?? I met a few of the cast members a year ago in Scottsdale and they were talking of going back to start the new season. What happened to it?

The Family WAS THE SHOW!! I worked in a funeral home and if you think watching more of the business end,(the arrangements, viewing, and burial)would be more interesting, you would be wrong. While some are definetly different and more interesting most are the same and would probably tend to bore most. The family and their interactions in conjunction with what was going on with the the different aspects of the business was what made everything else work, believably and with enough humor to keep you tuning in week after week!

:)You are 100% right to much family drama and not enough about the real workings of the business. I got so feed up with the in-fighting.

They should have done more with the subject matter and not dwell so much on the family issues. It was more about the family not getting along with the father than anything. Trying to get him a date. They did not show enough about the business. Just my thoughts.

Obviously, A&E is not going to bring back the "Poway-Bernardo Mortuary" Family Plots series. And besides the Wissmiller's (Shonna and Chuck) and other employees are no longer there anyway. So, I think if we write to A&E and see if they can find a new family owned funeral home it would be worth a try. Yes, we all loved the cast of Poway, but it was the subject matter that is so fasinating. A&E has done this with other shows, like Flip this house. Same show, different cast. I think Family Plots is worth another cast.
