I don't want to seem cold - afterall, someone has passed away and memorializing a friend is great - but Inmate's site reads more like a desperate fixation - the opening page is still a memorial to Britt, a month after he passed away, and lots of verbosity about how Britt wanted his day in court, and how upstanding and honorable he was. The decision by Fox treats the Britt affidavit as it what he said happened was true - so how would him testifying to what he said in his affdavit have changed things? What Britt says happened does nothing to make a dent in Helena's unreliability and Inmate's guilt. That is very well articulated in the decision. But apparently the decision has done nothing to make a dent in Inmate's and his supporters' delusions of his innocence. -- Edited by Gwyka at 11/19/2008 6:02 AM PST

Kathryn MacDonald clearly makes a concerted effort to appeal to those who know little about her husband's brutal acts. For example, she lends significance to the fact that the Government did not include any affidavits that question the character of Jimmy Britt. The Strip Mall Queen won't delve into the prosaic aspects of this issue which includes the Government deciding to use the information gathered on Britt at a potential evidentiary hearing. Why expose that information to the defense team when you can spring it on Britt at a hearing? Britt's death makes this issue null and void, but the late Peter Kearns and others have given us a small window into Jimmy Britt's less than pristine professional/private life. http://www.macdonaldcasefacts.com/ JTF

No new update letter - maybe they haven't seen the poems here, which would really enhance/improve that website. However, they have updated the Chronology seciton: "October 2008 US Marshal Jimmy B. Britt passes away after a valiant struggle with congestive heart failure. November, 2008 Judge Fox denies the January 2006 motion. The defense prepares to file leave to appeal." And the Defense Fund section: "Now that the defense plans to appeal to the Fourth Circuit Court in Richmond, Va., funding for all that is involved in the appeals process, including administrative and legal costs, is our primary need. Our attorneys hope for Jeff's sentence to be vacated at the Fourth Circuit, or for oral arguments or a hearing to be granted. All contributions are tax deductible." At least they got rid of that misguided blathering that the court had approved a hearing and please send money to help prepare for that! But lots of misguided blathering remains. Not to mention the pic of the rotting Inmate and his fembot-eyed Mrs. -- Edited by Gwyka at 11/18/2008 1:33 PM PST

bynthebard likes the poem and offers: there once was a man called inmate he was in prison until his death date he moaned and he groaned over this fate that people think him guilty makes him irate. inmate married the smq for some reason she acts the face of the case each season they think they can get courts to release him but we know it wont happen and can grin someday inmate will face the ultimate judge he will realize that he will face rivers of sludge his fate is for him to eventually lodge in the flames of hell that he cannot dodge -- byn

Inmate's site had info up very soon after Britt's passing, yet no statement about or updates since the decision. Suggested statement/update letter: We recently got the news We didn’t think he'd loose We couldn’t convince the Judge He didn’t fall for all of our fudge Couldn’t get him to budge We really thought there would be a release We didn’t comprehend all of that legal-ease A hearing was never ordered by the 4th Circuit Nor had they ruled on this latest claim’s merit Some people have tried To tell us that he’s lied and lied About how his family died No phone call from Larry King A bell in our heads goes DING We're done with he who killed his wife And stabbed his own children with a knife.

Gotta agree with those who don't think a divorce is in the works. I think Mrs. Mac is still hoping against hope and I think she's as nutty as her husband. Why else would she marry a convicted murderer of three? As Mrs. Mac ages, I think she's going to be less and less likely to divorce her hubby.

GR ain't interested in discussing the case. She came here to bump that thread about herself off of the front page - that thread that was buried on page 99 until she brought it up to page one. The IM thread is gone - she shoulda just gone that route - being as impacted and worried as she is about web psychos and how she just hates drama. -- Deb B "I'm just joking! But really I'm not."

gr - most of the time when we discuss inmate and his looks or lack thereof we are talking about them in the context of (1) his allegedly being a "goldenboy" and (2) the hope that the reason he is aging so badly is because he is being haunted by his victims. As for SMQ and her looks or lack thereof - well, maybe it IS a bit catty but since SHE is the one who keeps pushing herself out there as the "face of" the case it makes her fair game. Just think of it as collegiate inanities or a stress reliever. WE spend very little actual time discussing the looks of either inmate or SMQ. The little we do, they more than deserve imo. -- byn

I don't think they're going to be divorced soon. Some day, maybe. I think Kathryn is too lonely and just plain strange. I honestly don't think she wants a divorce from MacD. And she certainly doesn't look "glamourous." She ageing, just like MacD. I blame MacD. for many, many things, but not for growing older or looking older.

<<<Just as well both parties see one another through glass. Would you really want to be that close to Inmate? Yuck! He looks like Kreacher from the "Harry Potter" films.>>> I would not want to ever be in the same room with him because he killed four people. But to harp on his looks is shallow and silly. We all age if we're lucky enough to live long enough. I know people in their eighties who look perfectly fine. I've got nothing at all against MacD. for his looks. Only for what he did and his lack of repentance. Some day you're going to be old and wrinkled, too. Maybe people won't want to be seen with you. That's not a defense of MacD., just a defense of older people's looks.

The lack of update on JMD's site speaks volumes imo. Could it be that his wife is not as committed as she was? Jmpo, but I'm firmly convinced she is currently busy figuring out a way to get rid of JMD now that it has become clear even to her that her husband is going to spend the rest of his days in that small concrete condo!

His site is fiction with lots of pics of himself plastered everywhere - that's Inmate's style. I sent a polite, short e-mail to the site a while ago commenting about the text re: the brown hair "clutched" in Colette's hand and how Greg Mitchell had brown hair - this was long after the DNA results were out showing it was Inmate's hair. I got a reply back saying my e-mail was rejected as spam. -- Deb B "I'm just joking! But really I'm not."
