Thanks to everyone who took the time to post! Further views are always appreciated. For my own part, while I think it was unlikely, there will always be a big question mark in my mind. -- Edited by BigTimeCrimeBuff at 01/03/2007 10:13 PM

Rash, Thanks so much. I read the reply and just sighed. I was truly hoping (idiot that I am) for something thoughful and/or insightful from him. I should know better than to expect that by now, but he isn't a stupid kid. I decided that continuing that conversation was a waste of bandwidth. ???

Hello there, "questionable", and thank you for taking the time to post. It is very easy to prove a negative. "The man with no eyes couldn't see" "The man with no legs couldn't walk" "The sun does not rotate around the earth" I could go on, forever. All of these are provable negatives. Questionable, it is quite obvious that the board twerp is trying to impress you, but don't let him throw sand into your eyes. BCTB: Not every statement which contains 'no' or 'not' has something to do with 'proving' a negative. For example, in the sentence you quoted above: "The man with no eyes couldn't see", the "couldn't see" is a 'deduction' from the (given) 'fact' that this man had no eyes. This has nothing whatsoever to do with 'proving' a negative. But if you absolutely think it is so easy to 'prove' a negative, here's a typical Mac camp allegation for you: "JMD could never have done this." Happy 'proving', BTCB! -- Edited by rashomon at 12/27/2006 4:15 PM

Dear BTCB, How does one prove a negative? Bunny said "no" and you asked for supporting evidence. Even though you never supply supporting evidence to your own "theories", I admire your writing ability and your style's meticulous attention to detail. That leads me to believe you are not just a teenager trying to play mind games, but an adult (and probably a male since is it not characteristic of females to get a high level of satisfaction pissing people off over a period of months the way you do) that enjoys doing the same. However, I am aware that my opinions are of absolutely no importance to you and know better than to expect any kind of thoughtful answer to my question, "How does one prove a negative?" ??? -- Edited by questionable at 12/26/2006 8:45 AM

Hello there "Bunny2", thanks for taking the time to post, and thanks for bumping the thread. Unfortunately, a blanket "no" remains an unsatisfactory answer, unless you provide supporting evidence. But your vote for "no" has been noted. Take care of yourself -- Edited by BigTimeCrimeBuff at 12/26/2006 5:42 AM

Hello there "Bunny2", and thank you for taking the time to post. Unfortunately, a simple "no", without any supporting evidence, is not sufficient to diminish the lingering doubts about this issue, however much of an "expert" on a 36 year old case you may pride yourself on being. Take care of yourself.

Hello there "colduck", and thanks for taking the time to post. Someone like you could not possibly "offend" me, so have no worries on that score. Thank you for your nice wishes. The "Mrs MacDonald" to whom the question refers, however, is not Doctor MacDonald's mother but his wife. Do you believe Mrs Jeffwife was abusing the Jeffkids? -- Edited by BigTimeCrimeBuff at 12/25/2006 10:36 AM

Well good grief, I SAID have a "happy holiday" season. Doesn't that cover everyone? Excuse me for using the word "Christmas" - in my experience, most Jews don't take offense at that. And you should use a dictionary when posting...the word is "practicing" not practising. For the record, NO I don't think Mrs. Mac was abusing the kids. Colette didn't trust her with the kids that much. You take care! And oh yeah....Happy Hannukah!

Hello, BTCB, and thank you for taking the time to post. You have a wonderful holiday season! Sing some Christmas carols, give someone a present, bake some cookies for Santa Claus. And you take care of yourself, kid.
