Today is the anniversary of the day Lori, Michelle and Doris left for Camp Scott. I guess it has been thirty-two years? I was just wondering if anyone who had blogged within the last year or so was online? or watching these recent blogs

I am the molestation survivor of Terry A. Martin. I haven't posted in awhile but I have kept track of the events of this case. I continue to speak out on many other blogs of this horrible crime that happened in our hometown of Locust Grove. My husband and I sold our home and built one in the country in Locust Grove. We are continuing to speak out for the brutal rape survivors that he did and the possibilities of his presence in these murders to the Mayes County community. I also work for the Cherokee Nation and have openly discussed what he had done to the innocent children of the family. I am working on becoming a speaker to many Cherokee Nation citizens on how they may recognize the signs of molestation and monitor their family members /friends overnight stays and alone time. I may have been too young and fragile to understand what he was doing but I can tell you that this voice will never be quieted again. These murders at the Girl Scout Camp may not be solved here on this earth but whoever did this, will close their eyes one day, see our God and He will know what happened on that night.

I think it must have been terribly traumatic too, waiting and watching the bus. The level of heinousness in this case is just oo much for me to bear reading about sometimes....I can't imagine the family trauma.

I was 7-1/2 years old in 1977, and a girl scout. Unfortunately I was too young to go to Camp Scott that year. My older sister, who was almost 11 was at the camp, when the tragedy happened. I remember this very well. I had to stay with my older brothers girlfriend while he drove to Locust Grove to find out what was going on, of course he was denied information. The parents of the all the girls were waiting on the busses to return to Tulsa (where I was from at the time) and the magic empire refused to tell the scouts parents' which children were killed. I thought this to be terribly traumatic just waiting, hoping and praying to see your daughter get off the bus. In July 1977 we moved to Locust Grove within oh 4 miles of the camp where the tragedy occured. It was very hard for my sister, as I recall. She told me, she was in the tent across from where the girls that were murdered stayed. She remembered talking to them and were goin to go outside and play after dark (which wasn't allowed) but those in my sisters tent couldn't find their shoes. I believe this is a miracle or their could easily have been more vitcims. She said she never heard anything during the night. The next morning all they were told to go swimming while they waited for the busses to return them to Tulsa. They were unaware of what had happened till after they returned. I grew up and graduated Locust Grove highschool in 1987 and lived in NE Oklahoma all of my life. This has affected my life and enhanced the belief that justice is overrated and ususally the sentence doesn't fit the crime and if it does the parole system gives them the opportunity to commit again. I so prayed when they retested the evidence something would have come out of that, but alas the hopes of all of us in Mayes County who remember this were very disappointed. Feel free to contact me.

im very interested in anything anyone has that i could watch or read. I grew up here in LG and had a relative on the local police dept at the time of these crimes. Im currently reading the book the "detective" wrote and banked in on. I know family memebers of the accused. I've heard rumors my entire life about this case. My relative that worked under the police force told us that we should not read the book cause it was all lies and that the crime scene was so contaminated by the mayes county sheriffs department as well as the fbi that even if there was evidence they destroyed it. It was a crime that the sherrif at the time wanted solved and wanted pinned on the accused and when he was acquitted "mysteriously" died of a heartattack at a young age even though he was a great athlete. Now what part i have read of the book (just getting started) It makes me believe he did it as I know several that went to school with GLH and described his actions with "woman" to those described by the two that was wraped by him in Tulsa. Im a firm believer in do not judge til there is solid proof and being a mother myself i feel these families were done wrong from the very beginning of this sad case. Agree why didn't they hear the girls screaming cause as much as they were torchered They would have screamed with pain and agony! They saw lights in the woods several times that dissappeared when they shined their lights on it but yet didn't think anything of it? The police did everything WRONG from day one and the biggest thing that I find just WRONG is the fact that one of the detectives wrote a book about it and banked on these poor children's deaths after he FAILED to properly solve the crime!!!! Does anyone know if the families were asked permission to write the book, did they receive any monetary supplements from the sale of the book? just wondering in Locust Grove

I know this case happened before my time. But I study cold cases and this one has me locked on. I may be a little young, but I am very smart and I also have a 9 yr old daughter. Me and my daughter have tried all ways of sound making. Meaning in suprised frightened and such. I believe their is no way that the counselors could not have known what kind of sound those girls made. Girls scream with fear and they scream loud even if just startled it is loud. we tested from far away playing hide and seek. I heard loud and clear my childs scream. I believe in my heart the answer to this case starts and ends with the camp ground. We also ran test on dogs even police dogs. The dogs were not on track with fresh sent. they were on sent with drugs but not good with regular tracking in other sences. Medical research I have found dealing with sex affendors, that a pedifile will stick with the child. This hart man was arrested before for hurting 2 pregnant woman. That tells me he really like pregnant ladies as his choice. Why if you decided to do it again would you wait so many years after breaking out of jail to decide one day you would want to harm a little girl. I believe his amo was pregnant women not children. the resides in the counselors and that camp ground. one question to ask yourself i will leave you with. where are those counselors today? and why did they leave?

It seems that no one has been discussing this for a couple of years. I hope you get this message. I worked for a large dog training business near Tulsa at the time. We offered tracking dogs immediately the morning the bodies were discovered. We were refused, then 3 days later someone from Pennsylvania had dogs on scene!!!! They "seeded" the trees with water from helicopters to "release scent to the ground" What a sad set of events for the familys'. We had a fresh track and were turned away(more than once). Sid Wise messed it all up and couldn't admit it. The crime scene was so contaminated. There had been over 100 people walking in the crime scene within the first few hours of discovery. Do you still have a copy of the video? I would like to see it. Please respond if you or any one else sees this.

teresagirl, i hope you still check this site. i just ran across this post. i have been researching this for years and did not know until a couple of years ago after reading the book and asking family members about it, that Ben Woodward was at Camp Scott at the time. I have often thought many times how interesting it would be if the man I grew up calling Uncle Benny was still alive to ask him about this. If you have any doubts about me being related is true, I believe you also lived in Coffeyville, KS. Maybe between the two of us, we can get some of the answers you are looking for.
