Since you are devoted members of the A&E community, we’d like to let you know of some changes that will be taking place on our network discussion boards. Coming this October, we will be moving the A&E discussion boards to an easier, more flexible platform. This exciting update will allow us to improve and expand your experience as a user with improved board functionality and robust member profiles. When the new community is ready, we will be turning off the ability to post here, but you’ll still be able to read the current boards. We have also set up a forum where we’ll be answering questions about the upcoming transition.
Stay tuned for more details in the next few weeks. We will be sure to keep you updated as we make the transition.

Thanks Keka and Bama, things are good here, our site has been down for almost 2 days now though. I think I'm getting forum withdrawal fever.
My Mom's surgery went ok btw for those of you that had asked in another thread.
I saw Dog previews on the TV yesterday and immediately thought of you guys here.

YOu don't understand. The govenment pays for the marker..it can be put up anywhere as long as it's a former military member or his spouse or one of his minor children.
Government headstones go to civilian cemeteries....or they'll give you money towards a headstone of your choice.

I've been watching this forum here for about the last month. I must say the amount of deleting posts and now bannings are really something else. I know it is their forum but gee whiz. (I hope that language isn't too harsh )

Many families own cemeteries here.....but just about anyone can be buried there...and is....not just family members....yeah if they want one put up...let them do it....they have the cash.....or Anne's family can...it is a personal thing....

I am sure that is true, especially if they are buried in a cemetary like Arlington where they Government owns all the land. I believe in a private cemetary, you or your family purchase the grave plots, or the land the grave plots will be in, so you technically own them and the land. You can sell the empty plots if you want to. Can't do that in a government owned cemetary, plus you need approval to be buried there.
