I just wanted to take this time to Thank everyone for their kind words and sympathy at the loss of my son, Josh. It has been very hard to go day to day without him, but we do believe that he is watching over us and hope to see him again someday. He was doing a good job, one that he had always wanted to do, and we know he was at his happiest time. He was finally on his own doing what he loved doing... He was a homeowner, he was engaged to a great girl and he was looking forward to his life of new experiences... only to have it cut short by someone who had no dreams or goals to find his own happiness, but with a penchant to take that away from someone else.

Things are so very different without him. His two brothers still wear the badge and honor their brother daily by continuing in the job Josh so loved. We all try to keep Josh's honor intact by doing what we believe Josh would want us to do. Never a day goes by without him in our thoughts.

For those that are on the force or planning to do this highly important job...please stay safe and keep a close eye out for anything that may put your life in peril. No parent should have to go through the loss of a child...no matter what age.

Again, Thank You for the heartfelt posts.

In Memory...
Joshua E. Norris

I just watched the show about Officer Josh Norris even though it's been a while now I just want to give the family and friends my condolences. Just seeing him on the show he seemed to be a great guy that would have been a pleasure knowing. He was on his way to a long career that got cut short way too soon.
I'm trying to get on at my local police department and I just felt like saying sorry for everyone that knew and loved him.

I WAS READING SOME OF THE MORE RECENT BLOGS/POST AND LETTING HIS FAMILY KNOW THAT YOU ALL ARE ON HERE AND STILL PRAYING...THEY ARE SO APPRECIATIVE. ALSO TO ANSWER A QUESTION THAT SOMEONE HAD ASKED AS TO WHAT JOSH HAD DONE WRONG? WELL HE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG. JOSH WAS A PRESBYTERIAN AND THEY BELIEVE THAT THEY ALL HAVE A TIME PRE CHOSEN WHEN THEY WILL GO TO GOD. THAT IS WHAT MADE SOME OF THE GREATEST WARRIORS SEEM SO FEARLESS WAS BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THEIR TIME HAD BEEN DECIDED AND NOT TO FEAR DEATH BUT TO ACCEPT IT AS GOING HOME TO HELP WHERE THEY ARE NEEDED.

This was a very moving show. I would like to send my condolences out to the family and friends of Officer Norris. The world would be a much better place if we had more men like him.

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE POSTED THE VIDEOS AND HIS OFFICER DOWN MEMORIAL PAGE. IT WAS A GREAT LOSS TO BOTH THE FAMILY AND TO THE JOB. WE ARE ALL SADDENED AT THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF THIS GREAT PERSON. I HAVE KNOWN JOSH SINCE HE WAS 9 YEARS OLD AND WATCHED HIM GROW INTO ONE OF THE FINEST OFFICERS/MEN I HAVE EVER KNOWN. AND YES HE HAD JUST PROPOSED TO HIS GIRLFRIEND THE DAY BEFORE HE WAS SHOT. I AM HOPING THAT ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE WATCHED THIS EPISODE AND MAYBE EVEN THE VIDEO OF HIS FUNERAL TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT THIS IS NOT A JOKE THAT THIS IS WHAT OFFICER'S FACE EVERY DAY THEY GO TO WORK. I AGAIN CAN THANK YOU FROM THE FAMILY BOTH THOSE IN BLUE AND BLOOD.

This is true jono1. It is real life and there is plenty of risk that they take. Deputy Norris gave the ultimate sacrifice and that is sad. It is such a shame that he died too young and I hope his family is healing. My heart goes out to his family. You never know what they will face when they go out on duty.

I've been watching this great series since the start. At the end, they always list some things that rookie accomplished. Just before Norris' list, they hightlighted the St. Michael medal and I thought "oh no."

What a tragedy. This guy is from a family of police, was engaged to the daughter of a cop and was killed near his one-year anniversary.

We need more people like Dep. Norris, not fewer. I think this show was an excellent eulogy, showing his love of the job and high expectations.
