Since you are devoted members of the A&E community, we’d like to let you know of some changes that will be taking place on our network discussion boards. Coming this October, we will be moving the A&E discussion boards to an easier, more flexible platform. This exciting update will allow us to improve and expand your experience as a user with improved board functionality and robust member profiles. When the new community is ready, we will be turning off the ability to post here, but you’ll still be able to read the current boards. We have also set up a forum where we’ll be answering questions about the upcoming transition.
Stay tuned for more details in the next few weeks. We will be sure to keep you updated as we make the transition.

The show should be cancelled. No one can fill the shoes of Patrick Swayze!

I am disappointment that the beast was cancelled. I am very sad about the passing of Patrick Swayze, but as they say the show must go on. I think he would want the show to go on. His co-star did a great job. Please bring back "The Beast".

So sorry to hear of the loss os Patrick Swayze-condolences. Now, I know some of you are saying to continue this show and I disagree. This show was 100% about Patrick Swayze (Barker) and for some that want to see Travis Fimmel (Ellis) take over then it will become a total disaster. He may have been a good underwear model (for some) but his acting sucks and do not know why he lasted as long as he did.

I honestly don't think the show should've been canceled. It had great potential. I believe that it would've been a terrific show. However, it was never given the chance.

I agree that it would be great to see Ellis step up and take the new lead in the show. At the very least A&E needs to wrap things up with an episode or two. It would be nice to see what happens between Rose & Ellis, and also show how some of the lose ends in the season finale turn out. Just one more episode would be nice instead of leaving us hanging like this. -- Let God be your first resource, not your last resort.

The most sad news is Patrick's current health battle. I hope he can win this war. But while he is the main character in The Beast, he has mentored Ellis -- so if they would switch the show a little, and make it about Ellis, I think this show is written, produced, directed, and acted quite well, and I think it could be successful with Ellis, who is also a very good character. But the A&E bigwigs will probably not consider this, even though I think it is a very reasonable way to keep most of the fanbase that this first season has already captured -- and probably, if it had a second season, it would get more fans. Many good shows have been cancelled at the end of, or even in the middle of, the first season. Many other good shows that did so-so in their first season got many more fans in their second season. Oh, well. Patrick, we wish you good health and long life. You are a great actor.

kabol. Trust me...there are wrose things people do to their bodies than smoke. Try living close to chemical plants and refineries. They release toxins into the air while you are sleeping....the next morning you awake to seeing everything(trees) that is above your rooftop blackened like charcoal. What about good ole flouride...it is so toxic that it can not be stored or destroyed. So they put it in toothpaste and tell you it's good for your teeth, when in reality, it actually eats the enamel off your teeth. What about all the chemicals and preservatives and over abundance of sodium they put in our food? What about chemtrails? Ever look into those? I am not saying smoking is good for you......but it does very little good to worry about nicotine when there are far worse goblins out there too get ya! -- Stand up for what you believe in.....even if you have to stand alone.

you never know, connie. someday nicotine might go the way of mary jane. (unless you live in california) i don't use either, but i have a feeling nicotine is probably the more health-harmful substance of the two AND it's the most easily and readily accessible. Given up smoking?!! What?! The man has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Giving up smoking now? Why? It would make no difference now. That would not have made any difference...at all. I heard Patrick say that if he knew that giving up smoking would lengthen his life, he would have dropped smoking a long time ago. The damage has been done a loooong time ago... Damn cancer.

This is just heart deepening sadness. I truly fell in love with "The Beast"from the very first episode. If only Patrick could have given up smoking for the show and for the fans, even though, I know how tough and/or hard that can be. I will never know how this story between Ellis, Charles, Rose, etc. will unfold .................................................................... a mystery. -- Edited by nitbob3 at 06/17/2009 9:47 PM PDT
