Dachet, we have black bears, eagles, gators, cougars etc. in my state but I agree with you NO way would I be walking in the deep woods where the good old grizzly may live!!!! I know people and animals are having more contact now due to we are building all in their habitats and you hear of more and more attacks from bear, puma and so on. I dont live far from New Smynra Beach the "shark" attack capital of the States and I love the beach but I am very wary in those waters....I think Jaws did us all in no mater what age we saw it at!LOL

JM....I bet that bear attack was in British Columbia. Thats usually where it happens. Glad he had enough sence to play dead. My sister and her husband walk in the BC forests every day. When I was out there, they wanted me to walk with them....I said hell no, you guys have grizzlys, and mountain lions, just take me to the nearest mall thanks...LOL...I'm just a prairie girl after all

One more thing I'd like to tell you before I go do some shopping....I remember it was February 2nd 1996. My grandaughter was born the day before, and we were bringing her home from the hospital....It was so cold that day that the tires felt like they were square...Kind of like driving in Fred Flintsones car...LOL. The temperature was -54 with the windchill...In fahrenheit that is like -65. Can you even imagine that? Now that is cold!!!....Later!...Have a good one!!

Dachat I forgot to add no I did not know that your time never has to spring ahead or fall back with daylight savings, pretty cool! I can imagine that you have some hot humid days though. I remember seeing on TV about how hot and humid Alaska can get during the summer, that it is brief but can get as I said hot and humid. Now mind you I dont know what they meant by HOT...maybe they meant a nice comfortable 70 degrees or maybe it does get up in the 90's. I dont know never been......but that also looked like such a very pretty place with all the wild life they showed, mountains etc.
Oh I heard on the news today that a man in Canada was attacked by a grizzly bear. They did not mention what part of Canada, but he fought it off, hid under a log or tried and the bear pulled him out then he remembered to pretend as if he was dead. He laid there the bear mauled him a bit but thank God did not kill him he then had the clear mindset to get back to his truck and drive himself to the hospital, truly amazing!

Yes Buttercups things that are nice, or funny even sappy sweet do make me smile. I guess I can be a softy at heart.

Dachat good idea with the A/C that will work on those hot humid days. I lived years without A/C and did just fine with fans but once I did get A/C- I couldnt imagine living without it! Its funny how we get used to things. Oh what I mean by Florida humidity is when there is just so much moisture in the air you feel so "icky".
Since we have a tropical climate it can have that real moist feeling in the air that just makes you feel uncomfortable instead of a "dry" type of heat like Arizona or the desert type of heat. One time when a hurricane knocked out our power for a good number of days and after all the rain and heat you felt like you were sticking to everything, as if you had to peel yourself off of thingsl!LOL

Hey Runner at least as you said we all got smiles from all the zanny remarks. I like what you said-- at least it beats all the neg. stuff or silly fights that sometimes break out. A good debate is great but it can get more personal some of the attacks so I for one enjoyed the fact that most of us had a good time with the thread! Its good to just roll with the posts/threads sometimes and see what happens and after a long work week like I said it made us smile all the different posts.:)

Good morn JeanMarie & runner....It's still morning here, so I guess I should say good afternoon....It is suppose to get up to 50 today, and at least thats comfortable....I do know what you mean by humidity...Believe it or not it does get very hot here in the summer, and when it rains, it becomes unbearably humid....I have seen myself shower 3-4 times a day. I have it licked this year though, I bought myself an air conditioner, Dehumidifyer....So I will just hibernate on the hot humid days.

I live in Saskatchewan, and did you know that we are the only province in Canada, who's time remains the same all year round....We do not go through daylight saving time.....Just some food for thought!!!

I think I'd put up with 'sticky' to get out of this rain here in Oregon. Yes, everything's a beautiful lush green here, but that includes the people 'cause we're all covered with moss!
But I guess it beats -1, eh, Dachat?

Sorry again, everyone, for the mis-info...I wish A&E would add the year to the dates they post or take off old stuff. I was disappointed, too!

30 degrees and its May...brrrr is right Dachet! It is hot, very humid in FL and I think gonna be in the mid 80's to 90's today. You get used to the heat though maybe because I have lived the majority of my life some place in the deep South, but the humidity is another story! If your hair is straight it goes flat if it is curly it goes wild and sometimes you are actually sweating right out of the shower. I dont mind the heat but you feel all sticky icky like you need another shower with the high humidity. I have family in CA and they say they have no humidity there I dont know if they are pulling my leg or not but it must be nice. I shouldnt complain though Fl is truly beautiful we all know that every place has its good points and bad points. I went to Canada as a child Dachet and it was like something from the movies so pretty so pristine, so you also have a pretty place just COLD!!!

that is a good idea. I go to the beach at least 2 times week maybe 3 times and always have sand everywhere. I am going to buy some.

That is a very good idea. I never heard of that and I have lived on the coast for about 10 years. I will have to pass it on to my friends. Thank You.

momsmall --I have a little trick for sand you may know it if not it truly helps and works. I have lived near the beach most my life too and have kids so a sufer gal one day gave me a tidbet as she saw me struggling with getting sand off of kids and myself.
Use baby powder to get the sand off all the various arms, legs, feet even before you shower or if you cant use the showers there for whatever reason, plus some spots dont have them and need to zoom home. It makes the sand go right off like silk so you dont end up taking half the beach home with you in the car. Sorry no trick with the sand in the hair...but the baby powder really does make it all slide off and I think I may have saved a few beaches from erosion. ;)
