We opined how we wondered what actually happened to the heroine (forgot her name) and if she surfaced in the 2nd book as it seemed some questions went unanswered.

Chick, I've forgotten many details of "Luxe", but know that I enjoyed it at the time. I do remember that you mentioned the "unfinished" aspect when we read it.

That's what I got from all my books, how-tos etc. Don't have a reader wondering what the heck happened...unless it's Star Wars where it's a trilogy. A series would not fall under that category. Each book must stand on its own in a series. Clew, remember when Luxe did the same thing? I've yet to pick up the sequel.

That's right, Snoops. Just got to that point now. I think it was at the funeral that it was revealed what she'd told Delores.

Thanks, snoops. That's what I thought, but couldn't remember for sure. And I know it's revealed in a sequel, because in the blurb for at least one later book, he's sketched as a such-and-such character. My first reaction was that it's not fair for a writer to do that. Continuing characters, fine, but not completing a storyline in a single book is rotten pool, as Chick has said (in her own words). LOL

Hope this doesn't get ahead of the included chapters (and if it does, don't give the answer away), but did the book ever fully explain the character and history of Dolores' boyfriend?

Does she have a boyfriend? And what might've Andrea whispered to her to keep her from running into Hannah? I'd think Hannah would ask or want to know what did the trick.

I agree with the others, pgh -- anytime is good for me. I've had my copy for a couple weeks now. Some kerfuffle occurred with this order. It was described as a hardcover with jacket, but when it arrived, it was a rather battered ex-library paperback. So the seller graciously refunded me half the cost of book and postage together. Nice of him, I thought.

Well, I have caught up to chapter 15 and though I am enjoying the narrative and am anxious to see how it all ends, it is getting a little long and boring for my taste. The book is what, 315 pages long? A bit long for something with fairly little going on. By the way, I just got my "Trickster" yesterday and am anxious to start that. Perhaps by the 10th or so of OCtober?
