well I've been dating the same chic for almost 5 years now.... Wow that's a long time(I'm only 38)..... She just got promoted to "My Main Squeeze", I think Gene should call her the Main Squeeze, or I my chic "the smart one"..... (After all She's got me)! She calls me "the guy her mother always warned her about"!!!!!

I have just gotten on to this program this year. And I will tell you it is one of the highlights of the week for me. I went to school and double dated with Shannon in the younger years at Mount Royal and to see her soooooo happy and the laughs I get from the program is awesome! I really don't think you have to be married to have found your soul mate. And I do think they have found each other. I have followed Shannon's life off and on through out the years. She gave me laughs back then and she is still making me laugh now. Good on you girl and all the money in the world really can't buy what a person gets from a soul mate and laughs. So girlfriend works for me. I call my husband my boyfriend and it keeps the sparks alive.

Make her Your Woman!!!! She is her own woman, & whether or not they're married Is'nt nice to wath a Happy FUN Couple like them on T.V. for a change. They are a great example of commitment MARRIED or NOT. And the debate it's created is smart business. So PLEASE understand no one makes a woman HIS woman. Regardless we'll continue to watch Shannon's antics on Gene Michele/French/cand

Gene loves Shannon, Shannon loves Gene, whatever they are doing it works for them and their two great kids, married or not they are doing something right.

I don't think so "Married or not, they have a strong relationship & that's what matters most."

I think it's GREAT that Gene calls Shannon his "Beauty Queen" & says that she's the "prettiest girl" he's ever seen. Married or not, they have a strong relationship & that's what matters most. Kido's to Gene & Shannon for being together for so long!!

Wow, Wild Thang/Snake Calm down dude, or miss. A suggestion is all it is and you say we have no right to an opinion? That's too funny. No one is insisting, demanding or telling anyone how they should be living their lives. This is just a fun forum to chat and relate with our peers. Perhaps you need to be more appreciated, yes? nosey neighbors or friends trying to tell you what to do with your life? I'm neither for nor against getting married. When statistic say 50% of marriages end in divorce these days, what are the basis? 5, 15 or 50 years?

Gosh, I thought I was the only one thinking along those same lines!! I really agree with what you posted! I have been married since I was sixteen years old, my hubby was 19 years old, and we are "happily married still", and more in love each day that goes by, were were married on May 5th of 1971, when you are in "true love", you have that special someone with you year after year, and grow together, and your relationship only gets stronger. I like my piece of paper, however, that's just me. My point is, you don't need a piece of paper to make it a "marriage", but for goodness sake, stop with the "girlfriend" stuff! Call her my "better half" maybe? The lovely "mother of our children', and they have such great kids too!! ANYTHING BUT GIRLFRIEND... PLEASE ! LOL.. Ok, that is my two cents worth..

Well, marry her if you & her agree....what's the big deal? It's only a paper- what counts is the life you've made & the great kids as a result.
