Sorry guys, it looks like there is no saving this show. A&E responded with the following comment:
Unfortunately production for "The
Rookies" has ended and there will be no new seasons. We sincerely
apologize for any disappointment.

To the AETV Crew.
If your not going to put the show on air, please release the show and name so another company such as, CBS or ABC can pick it up. It is a fantastic show, and you guys are making a mistake to not put out a second season.

I am very dissapointed to see that till this day, there has not been any updates or plans on airing this fine show. I am a rookie myself and have looked at this show for advice. It has not only been fun to watch but also a learning tool and I would greatly suggest to A & E to consider making new episodes and letting people like me take advantage of the education.

I was kind of suprised that the show is only 30 mins, I would much rather it be an hour. You don't really get to see much of each rookie, it seems like the show skips large gaps in each training period.
And I agree Jono that it did seem like the show just disappeared one day. Hopefully they bring it back soon and show more than the 30min episodes on now; I would think that there is a lot more going on than just what we see as they have it now.
It's definitely a great show, and I hope to see it on again soon.

The show was originally set to be an 8 episode per department airing. I don't know if they plan on filming in other cities, but it would be nice to do that... I had been told originally that it was to be an hour show, so I guess they did alot of editing to bring it down to 30 minutes. I'm glad they had been showing reruns again and didn't know the dvd was already available.
Hope I can get a copy soon.
My son was the JPSO deputy that was killed in the line of duty and I would really like to have the show that he was in. He loved his job and I know he was doing a good job. Not a day goes by that we don't think about him and miss him all the more.

I really miss this show!!! Does anyone know if its coming back on?!!? I have all the shows on my DVR so the reruns don't help..I need a new episode!!!!

Yeah I noticed Last Week the show didn't air. I do beleive the first season is done. The reason I say that is the first season is on DVD now.
I'd much rather watch rookies than anything else. Remove auto theft and put back on ROOKIES!!!
