Just wondering....sort of thinking out loud here....was the sniper really looking for Barker, or was the sniper looking for Paulson? Will have to go back and watch again, 'cause now that's bugging me. -- Let God be your first resource, not your last resort.

I thought Paulson (female FBI head), was fishy. Sure she gave Barker the file, but it probably was cleansed of anything involving her. And she did say he saved her life, but on what mission? She did look a little scared when Barker pointed at her, after he took out the sniper. The fuzzy camera work was probably the snipers scope action. That's why he didn't shot. Will have to watch it again to see who he was focusing on. I hope Patrick is healthy enough to continue. I pray he beats it !!! Maybe if he can't continue, his brother could take over? He has always played black sheep, maybe this would be right up his alley?

aztechman, I didn't care for the blurry camera work myself, either. I believe they were showing us the sniper's view thru his night-vision lense as he was looking for Barker. So, does anyone else now think Paulson is Vipor? At first I thought it was the big guy, but Barker never exactly came out and called him that,.....did he? -- Let God be your first resource, not your last resort.

?:| LOVE THE SHOW! I thought the season finale was terrific and left us wondering about the FBI lady. Anyone know what other show she was on? I am so sorry Mr. Swayze is so sick. He's such a great talent. I do think the show can go on when he passes. He left a good enough lead for us to continue watching.

Excellent comments above, for the most part. This final episode was really cooking and it finished exactly as it should have. Again I appreciated the great leads who work alongside Patrick, the frenetic pace, the twists and turns, the darkness, and the endlessly modulating music - whoever picks the music is a genius. I'm glad the show has essentially no humor - though there was some last night: Conrad squawking that someone had shot up his car! One of the product placements. Having Barker out in the cold looks to me like A&E are pro a renewal - Patrick would be written in when he feels up to it. There are maybe 1.3 million regular viewers. A&E would like over 2 million. I think that is do-able. The show could use a good fan website. There isnt enough buzz about it, and a website is one way to go (dont look at me!)

I agree the final episode was so great! This show has so much action and twists and turns that keeps me on the edge of my seat! I want another season of this wonderful show and to find out if the lady (Pamela Reed), was good or evil??? What a great ending to have him point at her and leave us wondering if he was thanking her or letting her know he will be after her butt for betrayal. I think Patrick makes this show and pray for him to be able to continue doing something he loves. Also, GREAT job on casting!!

What they could do is have Barker sacrifice himself to save Ellis and say something like "You know everything I know it's your job now" Season 2 well be about Ellis and his new partner.

i have watched this show from beginning to last night's season end. i thought it was brilliant....patrick swayze is awesome....as well as the rest of the cast. some of his best work. what an amazing man, who is fighting his own personal battle, but still puts his heart into his work of entertaining. it takes a special kind of talent to so do. my prayers are with him & his family. and if, by chance he is reading this, i just want to say "thank you"......and Godspeed. get well soon...the beast would not be the wonderful show that it is without you!!!!!!

I loved it!! I thought it was very well done. Sure there are a few loose ends that have us scratching our heads. I think that was intentional. Now, like everyone else, I'm wondering if this show is done or will they try to bring it back with or without Patrick. I've been reading alot about this. From what I read, TPTB aren't sure what to do at this point. The ratings have been decent and the critics gave it really good reviews. Patrick is really sick. It pains me to say that because I adore and admire him so much!! DAMN cancer!! I'm being honest here....if they do bring the show back and Patrick is unable to do it, would you really keep watching it? I loved the show...alot, but truth be told, it had much to do with the fact that Patrick was on it. He was phenomenal at Barker. It's hard for me to think of The Beast without Barker. Patrick has such an amazing presence...he always has, even going back years when he was a young actor just starting out. Even recasting Barker would be extremely hard to do, in my opinion. Leaving some loose ends makes me think that originally it was thought that the series would continue. Now.. I wish we knew....sigh -- Without the bread of life, you're toast. -- Edited by preciousangelgirl at 04/24/2009 10:29 AM PDT

If they had wrapped it all up nice & neat, that for sure would mean no NEXT season. Them leaving a few lose ends leads me to believe there will be another one. -- Let God be your first resource, not your last resort.

I actually disagree with you on the final episode. I was very pleased that they left a sense of mystery to the show's story line. I was glad the story wasn't summed up in a pretty little "happy ending box". Over all I was really happy with this show. I watch Paranormal State, and Intervention all the time--but this is the only "drama" tyoe show I watch on A&E. I think Patrick Swayze did an amazing job, and I wish him nothing but happiness--but i would continue to watch this show regardless of who was on it. I think it's that good. I am a little sad that it is over. Oh well, hopefully there will be another season?

Just finished watching last night's final eppy. Gotta agree with most of what you're saying, although I'm not as disappointed as you are. They've gotta leave something to string us along till next season, I guess. Yes, I do wonder if the head lady wasn't involved. If she had access to the original file, who's to say she didn't change it before handing it over to Barker? Robo-what's-his-name could have been involved as indicated, or maybe she set him up to clear herself? And yes, it does appear they still want Barker gone. Guess we'll have to wait to find out.....bummer!Wonder when the new season starts. Now that they've thinned out the characters, it will be interesting to see who comes back. -- Let God be your first resource, not your last resort.
