So many times, crimes have been solved because the perpetrator was bragging about it. In jail or prison there might be someone doing time for petty theft or robbery, and they could brag about how they were also involved in worse crimes,or maybe somebody on the outside spread word about somethin to somebody on the inside... and if these rats didnt get anything, what would the incintive be? If they are a criminal themselves, I don't wanna see them out walking my streets , but at least they might get rewarded with pizza and a movie.
